A friend of my sisters has really great skin and whenever we meet occasionally, she comprehensively names her latest beauty buys; I instantly google and bookmark them and buy them after a night of serious contemplation. Of course I've seen these metallic drops appear on my Instagram feed since over a year and people proudly showing off their foiled faces with this slathered all over their skin but I was only going to be sold when I actually saw someone wearing it. Someone whose make-up choices closely resemble mine and as this friend is pretty au naturale when it comes to her beauty regime, I thought I needed to give this overhyped product a whirl.
This comes in 4 shades, Original, Shine, Glow and Blush and I got myself 'Original'. It's a beautiful champagne shade that pretty neutral and suits all skin tones. If I had to repurchase, I think I'd give 'Glow' or 'Blush' a try as they're both a little pink-toned and I always need some pink to counteract my naturally yellow undertones. Regardless, this product is the bomb and its forte is its inability to tone down. It's bold and unapologetic nature is what sets it apart from its 129472 competitors. It's not going to meld in subtly, it's not going to give you that 'glow from within'. The end result screams and shouts to be noticed and honestly, I'm impressed.
Being someone who's obsessed with blending out products and making sure they're not obviously seen by the naked eye, I sometimes need a product that goes all out and pays tribute to why we actually wear make-up, to express ourselves. Not in a demure kinda way but in a fearless, vivid manner. You've all seen how this applies and looks on a trillion faces on Instagram so I'll just tell you how I personally like to wear it. It's at its best when applied underneath foundation and post-moisturiser. Yes, I'm seriously asking you to foil your face with it and trust that once your foundation and the rest of make-up is on, it will leave you well pleased.
I got mine from Cult Beauty.
