I often feel we are way past the BB cream trend until another brand launches a new, improved version of it and makes me think, perhaps its trend life is going to be immortal, a bit like skinny jeans. Anyhoo, KIKO has brought out a BB cream, just in time for the muggy season, when we want to give up on make-up and just dunk our skin in ice cold water. They've given us a reason to try out their new base offering, with the attractive SPF 30 element added to it. It feels absolutely refreshing to put on despite the lush, thick formula. The light base adds a subtle layer of coverage to the skin, just enough for the warmer months.
I like the fact that you can build the coverage further and make it look quite flawless with your concealing skills. The end result is a smooth canvas that glows from within and in few hours dries to a demi-matte formula. It reminds me of Liz Earle's Skin Tint in terms of formula and finish, and I have to say I did love it when it was initially launched. There are 7 shades to choose from and from what I've seen, they seem to lean on the fairer side of the colour spectrum. With such easily blendable formulas however, you don't have to worry much about finding an exact match!
I have Ivory 01 - an uber pale, neutral shade perfect for Kate Winslet-esque complexions, Honey 03 - a neutral nude with a hint of golden undertone (think MAC NC20) and Warm Almond 04 (let's say MAC NW30)- a cool tan shade with a rose-y undertone.
I am going to keep one of these in my gym-bag for the post-workout-commute face. Here's hoping it can help cover up the exhaustion! You should check it out too when you're in a KIKO store next.
