EID Look Decoded

This Eid, I decided to go down the more blogger-esque route. So I dug out my blending tools, brushed the dust off those falsies lying around in the drawer since years and revised lessons on strobing and sculpting. I call it the ‘blogger-esque’ route being a beauty blogger, I often get asked why I don’t wear loud eye shadows and more obvious colour on my face. Personally, shabby-chic is just my style and I don’t like bothering with eyeliner (I know, shocker!) or two toned eyeshadows on a daily basis or heck, even occasions.

So here’s my take on ‘loud’ occasional make-up for Eid. Trust me, it looks way brighter in real life than it translates into photos. Here are a few things I did differently compared to my usual routine. After putting on MAC Face & Body Foundation, I contoured the face with Clinique’s Chubby Contour Stick. This is slightly orangey for my skin tone but it worked to create some depth. I then used MAC Select Cover Up and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my contour to lighten the area and emphasise the sculpting further. To add more drama, I went over the cream contour with Fab Contour Trio using Zoeva’s 109 Face Paint Brush, both of which are must-buys. My highlight choice of the day was ‘Angel’ from Urban Decay’s Gwen Stefani Blush Palette. I can douse my face in this and still never get enough.

Departing from my usual lip stain, I am wearing Sephora’s Lip Stain in 38. Eat, sleep, repeat and they don’t budge. Plus this hot pink-purple-y shade makes me weak in the knees #gamechanger. I am wearing Kiss eyelashes that looked uber huge and felt heavy initially but looked great in photos and I got used to them in a while. My champagne gold and sea green eyes are courtesy of ‘Finland’ and ‘Fjort’ from Cargo’s Northern Lights palette. Hope you had a gorgeous Eid!
