Serums, Lotions And Emollient Creams - Winter Edit

I have three new skin quenchers that you may want to add to your shopping list whilst we transition from winter onto spring onto summer. If you are a Londoner like myself, not only do you have to worry about crazy weather changes but there's that added element of pollution and stress that the skin has to deal with.

Alternating between serums, lotions, emollient creams and treatment masks, I have finally settled on these babies to help my skin transition into the new season.

We have Dermalogica's Phyto Replenish Oil that's been an absolutely favourite of mine recently. What it does for me is form a protective blanket over the skin and help it absorb any moisturiser I put on top. Previously, my skin would feel flaky and my foundation wouldn't go on so well. But with Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil as a base, it's so much easier to work with makeup. Plus, in this dried out weather, it adds an underlayer of moist and dew. If your skin feels dehydrated and dull mid-week, just slap on some Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque for 15 mins and follow up with Phyto Replenish Oil for beautiful plump skin. I am totally in love with this Dermalogica power recovery masque! Probably one of the most effective face masques I've tried in a while.

My evening skin rescue seems to be the Jojoba Absolute Serum. The light as water serum feels and smells super refreshing on the skin. It ensures you are covered in the anti-ageing department and also keeps hydrating levels in check with Hyaluronic Acid as one of its primary ingredients. Apparently, it contains Pure Australian Jojoba, which is a liquid wax similar to one produced by the skin. Slap it on when you think skin needs a little help on those parched days. It leaves skin feeling taut and mildly nourished. Perfect for me as I am not a fan of going to bed with rich moisturisers blanketing my skin.

For days when I want something lighter, I opt for Bioderma's Hydrabio Cream. The rich cold cream penetrates my skin quickly, without blocking pores or leaving an oily finish. It's lovely fresh spa-like feel and scent instantly wakes your skin on those cold winter mornings, preparing your skin gallantly to battle the winds. This french product is all the reasons I raid French pharmacies on my trips abroad. It's patented Aquagenium formula penetrates the skin deeper and stimulates Aquaporins which are responsible for water flow under the skin surface. Increased hydration capacity means the skin stays hydrated and looks radiant even in the dry winter months.
