February Skin Quenchers - Body Creams and More

Oftentimes, we keep our face slathered with night creams and tonnes of products, while totally forgetting flaky layers of skin itching under those thick leg warmers. Blame it on the lack of sleep or a long commute, but slapping some much-needed cream on those forelimbs (and sometimes even the rear ends) can save a lot on future eczema lotions or even stretch mark removal laser treatments. So get yourself a nice cuppa and make mental notes about these tried-and-true products.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Fluide is the Holy Grail of multi-purpose creams. This light-weight French crème is a sibling of the famous Embryolisse Concentre. Its lighter consistency makes it perfect for quick absorption and is packed with fatty acids and vitamins to keep your skin youthful and hydrated. It also serves as a makeup remover, body moisturiser and an after-sun lotion.

If you find yourself in a precarious situation, weeks away from pay-day, then go for Argan+ Moroccan rose nourish body butter. It’s rich, creamy and makes your limbs velvety smooth while making you smell like you just skipped through a field full of roses. Give some extra TLC to your hands in these tundra-like winds. Soak your hands in a bowl of hot water, chuck in some exotic salts and gently massage them with Organic Surge Gardeners Hand Scrub. Let the faint aroma of lime, basil and rosemary relax your senses, as the olive seeds buff away ingrained dirt and rough skin. Rituals Miracle Hand Scrub and Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Recovery Scrub are also great alternatives. Follow up with a nourishing hand lotion.

Zesty scent lovers will adore Odylique Lemon Butter Hand Smoothie. It’s natural, organic and leaves hands and cuticles feeling smooth. Use it up within a month or two to prevent the cold-pressed smoothie from disintegrating. And most importantly, don’t forget to carry your trusted hand cream with you. I am currently crushing over Crabtree & Evelyn ultra-moisturising hand therapy. The travel-friendly 25g tubes come in gorgeous shades of lilac/pinks/greens and are made with clever ingredients (ceramides 3 and 6II) to reduce moisture loss while helping the skin's hydration level. It leaves hands feeling silky smooth and happy, as you brave through the cold.

Pssst, treat yourself to their limited edition Rose & White Chocolate biscuits, whipped especially for Valentines Day. They smell rich, are not too sickly sweet and greets your palate with a subtle hint of rose between bites. I don't know about you, but I have always been a white chocolate fan, so for a fiver I'd highly recommend this as a treat for someone special, or heck, even yourself. My mum said she would buy it just for the pretty floral cylindrical case.
