There are only a few brands that occupy more than 30%  real estate in my makeup storage and Lord & Berry is one of them. Be it their foolproof mascaras or iconic lip colours, it's a luxurious brand with humble packaging. They are celebrating 20 years of their existence this year and have launched a Birthday Beauty Kit to mark the milestone. It includes 4 of their best Eyeshadows shadows and a Lip Crayon. Unlike most brands, the quirky company has decided not to stay safe to celebrate their anniversary and to include a mix of their brightest, wackiest eye shades in the kit. I absolutely adore the perky yellow, retro-esque aqua, pale lavender and powder pink. At first glance, I thought there is no way I could rock these shades like other Instagrammer's out there but the quality of these is just so smooth and velvety, with the right amount of pigmentation; that I'm happy to report they are perfectly wearable. Of course, I'd recommend completing the look with a lick of graphic liner and some generous coatings of mascara, preferably glitter liner and coloured mascara if you're feeling brave. I'll keep these handy on my dresser for a quick pick-me-come when the winter blues hit us soon. Also, wouldn't this make a special Christmas present for someone who likes the brand or their pastels?

The Lip Crayon that comes in the kit has rekindled my love for peachy lip colours. The gorgeously glossy finish and the lush consistency aside, the shade is this retro, pastel peach with neutral undertones to it - making it compliment most skin tones. The colour appears a little in your face when you hit straight from the bullet but once you pat it in gently, it disseminates flawlessly with a lovely hint of colour and even coverage. Two thumbs up!

Available HERE for £45.

You don't need to be a skintellectual to know that hydration is the key to youthful, glowy skin. But come summer and we all ditch those creamy cold creams for I'll just drink 2 gallons of chilled Pimm's instead! I blame the uber rich body creams that feel far too icky to slather on muggy Sunday afternoons. But little did I know that our trusted creator of the petroleum jelly - Vaseline, has created a light, effective, aloe-fix for flakiness. Vaseline's Intensive Care Aloe Soothe comes in a large bright green aerosol and is literally a breeze to work with. Just spray it a few inches away from the skin to coat the limbs in white liquid-like foam. Massage it quickly and voila! It feels super light and the skin drinks it up within seconds. The cucumbery aloe vera smell is refreshing and quite subtle, which I love. I'd rather smell of Thierry Mugler's Angel than an over perfumed body cream. And it feels heavenly to spray on after a scorching episode in the sun. The Aloe Vera infused hydrant cools and calms over heated skin. If you are prone to post-sun irritation, this one might just be your elixir des skin! I wish they launch a travel-friendly size so I can chuck it in my Zara bucket bag for those unplanned sunny spells. 140 years of skincare knowledge for £3.50? Yes, Please!

After trying their cheap as chips Hyaluronic Acid serum, I thought it wouldn't break the bank trying out a couple more things from the range. No joke, I lingered on their website, reading geeky, scientific benefits of all the complicatedly named products for hours. It's just so different from the rest.

If you know someone who is obsessed with turning back the hands of time when it comes to dry sensitive skin, then Crabtree & Evelyn has just the present for them! All of Crabtree & Evelyn’s summer gift sets are beautifully draped in different prints and are bound to make ones day. I am in Love with Josey Shenoy’s vintage but very British illustrations made up of glasshouses, flowers, bees, plants and my absolute favourite - afternoon tea (nom nom). Draped in a beige and pink vintage floral tea cup print comes Goat’s Milk Shower Cream and Body Milk. I was of course intrigued by this Egyptian inspired goat milk concoction, milk being Cleopatra's beauty staple.

Expensive creams keep our exterior skin in check but what about the depleting nutrients needed for skin cells to heal and grow? Collagen is the queen of all proteins that keep our skin looking youthful. Those obsessed with anti-ageing lotions, need to actually replenish collagen levels along with specific vitamins, acids and minerals, to delay the signs of telltale ageing. Now, I have tried a few variations of abnormally large collagen capsules that are super hard to swallow, tend to make me feel a bit sick in the stomach and are often found at the bottom of my drawer a few years later. Arriving in the form of liquid vials, LQ Liquid is the first one to make drinkable potions packed with a high-quality fish collagen (i.e. gelatine free) to supplement your skin.

Okay, so I've been LOVING these two products here and thought I had to tell you guys about it. They are not of the same make, texture or formula but in a nutshell, they seem to address a homogeneous problem - a parched complexion.

I often feel we are way past the BB cream trend until another brand launches a new, improved version of it and makes me think, perhaps its trend life is going to be immortal, a bit like skinny jeans. Anyhoo, KIKO has brought out a BB cream, just in time for the muggy season, when we want to give up on make-up and just dunk our skin in ice cold water. They've given us a reason to try out their new base offering, with the attractive SPF 30 element added to it. It feels absolutely refreshing to put on despite the lush, thick formula. The light base adds a subtle layer of coverage to the skin, just enough for the warmer months.

Years of late night chocolate binging and a decade of java addiction later (blame it all on Starbucks!) my teeth finally started showing signs of discoloration. These are stains that even compulsive brushing habits cannot reverse. Here enters the market of high-end dental whitening treatments that most humble Brits seldom splurge on. In my case, I faint at the sight of blood and would rather bungee jump from the Shard than letting the dentist's whirring drill near my tiny mouth.

Lord & Berry have introduced 7 new colours to their range of Kissproof Lipsticks and they are fabulous! Think in the line of Kylie Jenner and Huda Beauty's lip colours but much less heavy on the lips. To me, the formula seems closest to Sephora's Lip Stains. It's lightweight, very comfortable on the lips and quite smooth on application. Like with all stains, I like to work in layers. Don't go crazy with dollops of gooey, high pigment colour at once as you'll only end up in a mess that will need oil based makeup removers to rescue it.

With a swarm of fancy masks engulfing the market with their charcoal-chocolate-caviar concoctions, it's almost impossible to pick a simple and effective mask for everyday use. Living Nature's Manuka Honey Face Mask does just that with its all-natural, gel-like-serum, sans the fancy frills. Filled in a plain, semi-circle squeezy tube is a transparent non-sticky gel that can be slapped onto the face and neck with fingers. The skin drinks it up like nectar so you can carry on your chores without the worry of it dribbling over your neck like with the bubble face masks. This gel mask is my new quick-fix for when skin feels bone dry or lacks lustre. Harakeke Flax (Aloe vera like plant gel) and active Manuka Honey from New Zealand, provide an instant moisture boost in just about 20 minutes. Living Nature gets extra points for creating an uber-comfortable mask that is easily absorbed and invisible when worn. It works wonders in the soothing department, making it perfect for sun-baked, irritated skin during scorching summers (insert witty British Summer joke). Pop it on two-three times a week and voila! Smooth, hydrated skin is ready to go. The only downside is the slightly pungent smell which is a small price to pay for having all natural ingredients. However, the smell seems to dissipate a minute after application. Definitely worth a try if you dislike experimental, thick gooey masks doing the IG rounds currently.

Essence Cosmetics instantly reminds me of brands like Cover Girl and MUA that are easy on the wallet yet don't compromise with colour payoff and seasonal offerings. Great to experiment with or to present to a teenager who is just getting into makeup! The lip colours are super fun to play around with. The Lip Gloss in Red is packed with pigment and has a lovely glossy finish to it. Perfect for when you want to amp up the glamour and go all out. Hell, I'd pair it with generous coatings of mascara and a graphic liner to take it to the 'pin-up' level. The lipstick quite innovatively is called 'Fade your shade'. On applying individually, it's a vampy oxblood kind of a shade however when applied on top of lip colours from the same family, it works cleverly at giving the edges a slept it, smudged-out, gradient effect. Pretty neat!

The sister got this baby from Space NK years ago and we just decided to let it sit in its velvety case and gather dust while we ummed and aahed on using it. Fast forward to a month ago, it has emerged as a 'must use' when shopping our stash. The formula banks on being super creamy and drying to a wet look. It has Pomegranate Sterols, to amp up the hydration levels as well as Vitamins A, E and peppermint oil for the added nourishment. The emollient formula is satin-like to apply but I find it works best when applied with a lip brush for better control. For mid-day touch-up's, I dab it on the centre of the lips and spread it out evenly to the corners. The key is not to go crazy with the straight-from-the-bullet application. The finish is opulent as promised and as glamorous as you would see on the silver screen. It's one of those formulas where it's more for red carpet photos and to elegantly wine and dine than gorge on breakfast scones and guzzle down creamy lattes. If you wear it carefully, the product lasts pretty long without much disruption.
