Urban Decay Afterglow. Quite Literally!

Urban Decay's Afterglow 8-hour Powder Highlighter has blown my mind. It's the next generation of highlighters. You know when a few years ago, you would have to compromise with a highlighter; it's texture, consistency, and finish? Yeah, that doesn't happen anymore. We may still not have the technology available to avoid Topshop Jamie's from ripping every six weeks, but we have definitely mastered the art of producing finely milled powder highlighters. This baby in 'Fireball' by Urban Decay is your cup of tea if you like all things iridescent, duo chrome and Unicorns in general. It's like positivity pressed neatly into a pot. The lavender base and the silvery-blue, pink duo chrome is plainly adorable. Not only does it make skin look strobed like those Instagram #MUA pictures, but wearing it literally makes me feel warm and fuzzy from the cockles of my heart.

The finish is anything but powdery, streaky or chalky. No blending effort required it's a lazy girl's dream product. Just slap it on top of your blusher or if you are pale, use a splash of it instead of blusher to look like you've just walked out of a spa day. It's one of those products that you can slap on bare-faced. It reminds me so much of the 90's when people would rock such shades for lipsticks and eye shadows. Good times!

To compliment this baby, we have Urban Decay's 24-7 glide on pencil in 'Heartless'. A silvery pink with a generous dose of lavender, it's pretty much a sibling to the Afterglow Highlighter. A daring shade to smother in the waterline, especially if you have a contrasting, olive skin tone like mine! Regardless, it works in the innermost corner of the eyes to give you a strong pick-me-up on murky days. The icy, cool tones help counteract any sallowness in the skin and is the perfect cure for a hangover.

If you're up for a bit of a challenge when it comes to your eye liner and highlighter, then I'd suggest giving these radical beauts a go.

I am SO tempted by this shade! How well does it show up on the cheeks? x

Hi Lauren. It's really pigmented even on the cheeks. Show up even with a light application.
