Summer Knick-Knacks - Hair, Skin & Body

It’s been unusually bright and humid for the British weather recently, making the average Brit unusually bright and chirpy than normal. This meant happier faces on commute and ice-lollies at work, Then again it also meant the hot and humid temperature got a tad bit much for the skin to handle. Below is a list of top four items that can help you survive the Turkish bath like weather recently.

Good Things, Total Wipe Out cleansing wipes with superfruit extracts – Leaving makeup on for long hours during muggy days can cause it to melt, irritate the skin and even cause breakouts. If you are blessed with flawless skin, clean you face thoroughly using cleansing wipes and reapply makeup during lunch hours or whenever time permits. The wipes feel very soft on the skin, removes makeup thoroughly and the berry (raspberry and cranberry) smell makes me feel clean and refreshed unlike the clinical, alcohol-laden smell that comes with most wipes. Plus, its paraben and SLS free for those with sensitive skin.

Etre belle, Aloe Vera ultra-moisturising gel – Did you know that in addition to lots of nutrients, aloe vera also heals sun burns, blisters, insect bites and inflammations? So if you are out and about this summer, throwing in a cooling aloe vera moisturiser to your bag will act as multi-purpose skin saviour for all SOS needs. This German brand came in a Glossy Box, 40ml for Euro 21.90. If rich, emollient face creams feel skin-clogging during warmer months, this is a great alternative as it's light, cooling and easily absorbed. A similar UK product would be Passion For Natural Aloe Vera Lotion 200ml for £6.99 from Boots.

SENSPA Natural body powder – Body powders can help you combat sweat and make you smell heavenly throughout the day. If fancy body sprays and scented body oils aren't cutting the mustard for you, switch to this traditional alternative. Just dab the body powder on your sweat prone areas after towel drying your body and voila! This Senspa body powder is very affordable at £4.50 and has hints of smoky and sweet notes from the lavender and geranium, along with corn starch to keep your skin dry.

Zerreau Towel Off Apple Shampoo – This is not a dry shampoo! Well it's pretty much like it but still a tad bit different, if you know what I mean? This is an innovative hair cleansing product which requires no water, just a towel. The foam is applied directly to the roots and massaged thoroughly before towel drying it. It feels gentler and less drying to the scalp compared to a dry shampoo and cannot be faulted at 180 ml for £6.99. It’s not meant to give a thorough cleanse but is surely worth a try for those Summer festivals, camping trips, pool holidays and long haul flights.
