Cara Delevingne being in YSL’s
campaigns is a match made in heaven. The model and the brand are both equally
chic, classy and can effortlessly channel that rock-chic effect. I’ve always
felt YSL was definitely not a sweet, sugary, girly brand. Although their
packaging was always stunning and their foundation formulations fool proof,
their eye shadow and mascara range was always playful and grungy with their
shades. I guess this is what always kept them modern, young and still in
limelight amidst bloggers, whilst other traditional brands faded. I am a huge
fan of their bold lip range but their Luxurious Mascara is their star product
without doubt.
Voted UK’s number 1 high-end mascara for years, it’s no doubt it maintains the title after it’s reformulations. I’ve tried a sample of its ‘Deep Night’ shade a while ago and it’s definitely known for it’s intensity of colour, that effortless curl and of course, it’s ability to last throughout the day. The new formulation containing oils, make the already fabulous formula more luscious, emollient and nourishing for the lashes. You know the crisp feeling when a formulation is too dry? The oils make the lashes more pliable and fluttery, yes please!
If that wasn't enough, the new formula further boasts of more fibres which automatically stick to the lashes to increase their thickness and volume. I remember a time when I was obsessed with fibre mascaras so I’m actually glad to hear they’ve decided to include it. Now that Summer’s around the corner (come soon please!), it’s worth trying their coloured shades such as ‘Extreme Blue’ and ‘Fascinating Violet’ which not only look cool but actually work at making your eyes appear brighter and whiter. After spending hours on my laptop, my eyes definitely need some help in the brightening department.
