Newness from Clinique always excites. It's this one stable brand that's only bettered itself since the introduction of it's first every Chubby Stick. If those weren't your lip favourites, I don't know what it says about you as a person. I personally always had three to four lying around in my handbag. Such easy to wear colours and juicy formulations that one could never go wrong with.
When Chubby Stick plastered it's name on these new contour and highlight versions, I waited with bated breath as to how they performed. Of course they had to be good, it's THE chubby stick. Like it's predecessor, the formula's are soft, dreamy and easily blendable. So handy that you can sculpt your face in under 2 minutes.
Having said that, these sticks are pigmented and need a stiff brush to blend them just the right way. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is my favourite to use with these. Of course you can use your fingers if you've sketched lightly but I like to go for a full-on, chiseled jawbone effect and for that, some heavy handedness is needed which in turn demands a brush.
The Highlight shade is shimmery with a possibility of finely milled glitter particles shot through it. Initially it may look scary but once blended the juicy, dewy effect forms a seamless film on the skin and looks brilliant even in photos. The Contour stick has a satin-matte formula and a warm chocolate brown colour.
The Cheek Contouring Palette that's also a part of the 'make yourself look like a Victoria's Secret Angel' range is a delightful addition to the chubby sticks. The shades are shimmering dusky pinks, almost to replicate a sultry winter tan and looks great popped onto the cheeks with these babies handling the cheekbone department.
Available in stores from 6th February 2015. Sure winners these are, keep your eyes peeled for them.
