Sleek Makeup Candy Collection

I was a tad bit bored with Sleek Makeup's previous collections. They were getting kinda blah and seemed a little repetitive to me. They have however nailed it with their latest collection inspired by all things candy. A perfect collection to introduce at a time when it's technically meant to be Summer but is still gloomy, rainy and cold in the good old Britain. At least we can cheer ourselves up with these deliciously bright colours!

Releasing on 5th June, including an i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette, a Blush by 3 blush trio in Sweet Cheeks and a Pout Paint in Lol-lip-pop, the collection will be limited edition. Don't you just love the outer packaging this time? I cannot bring myself to get rid of it. Do you save pretty make-up packaging or am I the only freak out here?

Coming to my most favourite part of the collection, the blush trio in Sweet Cheeks is out of this world pretty and I literally mean that - no exaggeration. This is one blush trio that I would take with me to a deserted island if I had to. No matter how much I try to love corals,  peaches and browns, pink blushers are my soft spot and this trio contains a superb variation of that. Plus, we get to see Sleek debut their cream blusher in this trio which is also quite exciting.

The powder blushers are gorgeously silky, pigmented and blend like a dream. The middle one simply melts my heart. It's a lilac-y, cool pink that is to die for. Also it's a matte finish with a silky texture. You also get a slighly coral pink to break the barbie doll pattern going on here and that has a slight shimmery finish to it. Again, I cannot fault it. The cream blush is similar to NARS blushes in texture, where it looks super creamy in the pan but transfers to a powdery finish on the face and still manages to appear emollient and dewy. Just perfect! We want an all cream blush by 3 now Sleek.

I am not a huge fan of Pout Paints personally because I cannot wear lipsticks and that to such bright lipsticks on an everyday basis. I'm lying. Hardly even occasionally. However for someone who likes bright pigmented bold lips, is a Make-up Artist or is looking for an OCC Lip Tar dupe, nothing can beat these beauts.

This particular on in Lol-lip-pop is a warm pink and would be quite flattering on most skin colours. It's not drying on the lips either but is packed with colour so you'll need to apply it carefully and sparingly with a lip brush. I'd say get this one as it's my favourite from all the Pout Paint shades Sleek do currently.

Aah and finally to the always awaited Eye Shadow palette. This one's called i-Candy quite aptly. It has the most beautiful collection of candy inspired, sweet feminine shades that are wearable and not overtly bright and in your face. I like how they have not relied purely on pastels and incorporated so many uber cute, unique shades. Loving the greens and blues here. EOTD's on their way peeps!

The colour pay off as you can see in the swatches below is superb as always. Expect a little fall out with the matte shades but not too much. I cannot say some shades are less pigmented than others because this time Sleek has carefully ensured all shades are jam packed with pigment which is great value for money.

Do you have your eyes glued to any products from Sleek's Candy Collection? Let me know if you'll be getting anything when it releases on June 5th.

Agera Deep Cleansing Salicylic Acid Face Wash

I absolutely love my skincare products especially those containing glycolic acid and salicylic acid. If you don't know already, salicylic acid is something that cleanses the pores from inside out unlike other ingredients that merely clear the skin of superficial impurities lurking on the top most layer of the skin.

Generally I would use Salicylic acid in skincare products such as face masks and spot treatments but I'm loving using this salicylic acid face wash for the first time. I feel it's so much more effective than a spot treatment. This particular face wash contains 1.8% salicylic acid which I know is not too extreme but not too little to be ineffective either.

In my opinion the formula is mild, does not sting or leave skin taut and feels quite comfortable after use. I don't find myself running around hunting a moisturiser but having said that, it is formulated for oily, acne prone skin so don't expect it to be super hydrating as well.

The formula is like a clear gel that's not too sticky nor too runny. You only need an almond sized amount to cleanse the face and the neck and it lathers nicely giving that super refreshing, squeaky clean skin. Seeing the generous 180ml size this comes in, I can see it lasting me for a good six months with occasional use.

I think it dried out certain areas of my face such as the sides of the nose and the chin but that's the only downfall to using a Salicylic acid based face wash I guess. You'd have the advantage of only applying product to where it's needed if this would be a spot treatment. Bad skin phases however require something like this that covers that entire face and you can then put the moisture back into where needed.

I personally would only reserve this face wash for bad skin phases, you can definitely tell when you have them right? It's when you do everything right but still your skin breaks out of control, yeah just that. I'd use it for say a couple of weeks until skin feels balanced and manageable and then go back to using something that can maintain my skin rather than cure.

My skin's usually pretty well behaved as I found it a few products that it loves but it's acting mental recently with a breakout every few days. Agera's Deep Cleansing Face Wash has been a saviour! I would say it's perfect for acne prone, oily skin to use on a daily basis and worth an investment for combination skin girls to treat a breakout.

KIKO Long Lasting Colour Lip Marker

Every summer I come across a new lip stain that I'm head over heels in love with. Last year I remember I adored the NYC ones and digged the Clinique Chubby Sticks like there's no tomorrow. I still love them but this year it's KIKO that's stolen the spotlight in the lip stain department and now that the blog is going through KIKOmania, I thought I'd let you know about them.

They're paraben free and hypoallergenic which is always super to find out. I love how extremely weightless they are on the lips. If you've been a regular reader, you might know that I cannot wear lipsticks on an everyday basis as my lips start peeling. Stain like lip products are my BFF's. These are nicely pigmented too but still keeping that translucency intact.

My only complaint, I have to slather on a tonne of lip balm underneath for them not to exaggerate any dry areas or gather more colour in one place. I love my Rodial Glam Balm Lips for that. On nicely moisturised and exfoliated lips, these give a beautiful yet visible hint of colour that can be worn on a daily basis if you do not share a fantastic rapport with lipsticks. KIKO have a beautiful store in Stratford Westfield, check them out!

Neom Enchantment Candle - It's Summer evening in a candle!

Okay, I know I say this for every new Neom scent but this is the most beautiful Neom scent I have come across till date. I have been constantly sniffing and burning it since I have had this in my possession and no words can describe it's scent precise enough. You WILL have to sniff it. It's a candle junkie's order!

The lovely people at Neom have collaborated with the Woodland Trust and every £1 from the candle will be donated towards planting more trees and preserving the heritage of the precious woodland in Britain.

I love the packaging of this Enchantment candle in particular. It's so chic, clean and fresh. Call me silly but the white container and the wood cap remind me of contemporary Ikea furniture which I love. Would easily blend in with any room decor.

Coming to the scent of it, it's quite strong is what I have to say. As soon as you open the lid of the candle, the entire room is filled with it's soft yet striking whisper.

I am saying this as a compliment but it smells slightly perfumed to me, reminding me of a high end perfume when you pass by Guerlian and YSL counters in Selfridges beauty hall . You know how candles usually just smell like typical candles, cranberry, vanilla and all that jazz? This however you want to make a body scent out of, it's that delicious.

It's primary notes include Bluebell, Guaiacwood & Rose. It's definitely floral but still so sunny, fresh and vibrant - like Summer in a candle. I can see this being such a hit for those long, warm summer evenings. After a while, you even start detecting the sweetness of the Rose that's very well blended.

It's definitely a Spring clean candle if you're looking for some motivation in your life and want to start fresh leaving all that negativity behind. I sometimes just leave it on my work desk without lighting it up and it's such good company if you're trying to work in this lovely weather.

The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club

Would you pay for £25 for a yearly service where you would receive a box full of fragrance samples three times a year, plus £5 off vouchers for all the fragrance samples included in the box? Yea, I'm on the fence too. But The Fragrance Shop has gone ahead and brought out a subscription for all your nosey noses out there called the Discovery Club. If you're a Fragrance addict, you'd love to come across these fragrances which may not have crossed your mind before.

Of course being human I am bound to complain 'but the sample sizes could have been bigger!'. Regardless, I feel it's decent value for money if you want to sniff a variety of concoctions. Plus even these teeny tiny vials last at least a week which I know is enough for me to decide if I want to make a purchase or not. A sniff or two at the counter has never really been enough for me to bite the bullet and get a full sized bottle.

Included in this quarters box are some already popular names such as Couture La La by Juicy Couture, Just Cavalli, Lacoste, Love Struck by Vera Wang and Nina Ricci. Including brands in the line of Narciso Rodriguez and Lolita Lempicka that are not found in every household further down the line would make Discover Club more interesting.

From the fragrances included in this box however, Nica Ricci LEau won my heart straight away. It starts off so sweet yet fresh and has a creamy, sensual, musky dry down. It's not overpowering at all nor too sweet and sickly. It's got the right ingredients blended in perfectly. I am that close to getting a 30ml bottle for myself.

Couture La La is not bad too but I have to say, it's so much more overrated than it should be. Well I think that about all things Juicy Couture to be honest but that's another story. It would however be my second favourite scent from the box as it's your typical girly girl, fresh, young, fruity scent.

Overall, it's a genius idea by the fragrance shop especially as we were massively getting bored of beauty boxes. The vouchers are great, especially as there's five of them in every box which I feel is great to give most of us that push to get a new scent. I may be asking for more but including just one 5-10 ml miniature fragrance bottle in every box would make it just perfect fragrance shop!
