L'Oreal Elvive New Extraordinary Oil

Pardon me for being a little late on the bandwagon but I've finally gotten my hands on the now cult-favourite L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil and I have to say, I love it! I've got the one for damaged, coloured hair and this one for all hair types and surprisingly, I'm loving both equally. No comparisons between siblings here!

So if you haven't read about this in the newspaper headlines yet, I'll give you a little insight into it - from what I thought of it of course. The magical emulsion is great for those with unruly, frizzy hair. Flyaways do not disappear with Summer and can be extremely annoying in the winter, especially when sticking to your scarf, beanie and all things wool, making you look like one hot mess.

My advice, pile this baby on starting from the ends of the hair dispersing it when reaching upwards. If you have limpy hair that can easily feel sticky and unwashed, then strictly restrict this to split ends only. If you're like me on the other hand where your hair cuticle is dying to absorb any trace of liquid or oil you slather on it, then you're in luck and go ahead and use a teeny tiny amount around the crown area to flatten those baby hairs.

My next favourite way to use it is as a pre-treatment prior to a hair wash. On days when you feel you sorry for your heat damaged, overtly styled, recently ombred tresses, layer this on from the ends to the roots followed by a covering of hot towel. This will ensure the product gets absorbed into your locks better. Wash off the concoction with your usual shampoo and conditioner routine and voila! End result, seriously shiny hair that displays vibrant colour and optimum health. Must try! Put it on your Sunday beauty to-do list right now.

If you have got a perm or are lusting after a brazilian blowdry, try this out as it will work wonders at taming a perm, separating the curls and making them look healthy while keeping moisture for longer in your tresses to postpone your desire for a keratin treatment.

Nonetheless, my go-to way of popping this on my locks is as a heat protectant before curling/straightening and as a finishing product to seal the style and add an instant kick of gloss.

I got mine from thesalonlook.com.
