Sleek goes matte - Ultra Matte i-Divine

Yes, remember the blogosphere crazily requesting an all-matte eyeshadow palette from Sleek? Well, they have listened to their loyal fans and have come out with not one but two Ultra Matte i-Divine palettes.

They are called V1 and V2, V1 being bright, summery shades, pretty much primary colours and V2 being muted yet bold statement shades.

I quite like the selection of shades that make up the palette. A good mix of taupey browns, muted purples, exotic yet wearable greens and a nice selection of nude, skin colour shades.

My favourite shade from the palette is 'Maple'. It's a caramelised brown with a hint of pink in it. A burnt mink, if that counts as a colour. It's actually a dupe of my all time favourite shade from the Dolce & Gabbana Eyeshadow Palette in Nude which I have hit pan on, so I am quite glad to get a replica of it.

Even the rest of the shades are quite modern, muted and unique if you know what I mean. They are not repeated shades from other Sleek palettes hence even if you already own Sleek palettes, you might still want to invest in this one or swatch it in the store for sure!

So I got my brushes out, laid tissues all over and starting playing with the shades. I can gladly report that a majority of them transfer very well, in fact pretty exactly on the lid as they appear in the palette, besides the exception of 'thunder', a muted grey, that has no pigmentation at all for some reason.

As for the texture of the matte shadows, Sleek has worked pretty hard it seems on getting them to appear silky and highly pigmented. They are not chalky at all but do stain and have a bit of a fall off.

Besides the palette's modern take on the runway looks, here are a few traditional looks that I came up with whilst having a play with it.
I shall try and do a few more 'modern' looks using the palette soon for those of you who don't like to sketch and blend and simply want a wash of colour all over the lid.

For now, the palette gets a two thumbs up!

Available from the 9th of May ladies.
