Extra Virgin Minerals

The Body Shop will be coming up with a new range of Cream, Powder and Liquid Foundations namely Extra Virgin Minerals.

I currently have the Loose Powder Foundation(14gm) to show to guys. There will be 12 shades in total and I have Natural Vanilla that suits my NC30 skin pretty well. Fortunately it does not have any pink undertones to it like other Body Shop shades I have tried before.

It is 100% pure mineral make-up, contains SPF, is Paraben free, non-comedogenic - meaning although it contains oils, it will not block the pores and will still allow the skin to breath.

That's a lot of goodness your getting for £15 in my opinion.

You get a lot of product in a sifter jar and the packaging it quite minimal and travel friendly.

The powder itself is very finely milled and ultra soft to touch and it immediately melts into the skin on contact. Regarding coverage, it provides a light to medium coverage which is pretty buildable.

Now, for me I cannot simply use this on its own as a foundation as its too sheer and does not cover the slight pigmentation and uneven skin tone that I have. However, I like to use it over foundation to give extra coverage and pull the look together.

Unlike other powders I have, this one finishes off with a radiant finish so the face does not end up looking dull.  By radiant, I mean an overall glow and not glitter particles or an oily looking face in any way.

It adapts to almost foundations I have worn it on and immediately reduces redness and uneven skintone along with setting the foundation. I noticed that it does provide coverage when worn on top of a foundation and I love using it as a setting powder.

It lasts quite long compared to my Rimmel Stay Matte and does not require touch-ups hence two thumbs up for longevity

It feels quite light yet moisturising when on and does not clog pores. I can't see it not working with any particular skin type really, unless really oily I suppose.

If this does not sound like your cup of tea, you have two other varieties to choose from...

Medium coverage, Liquid Foundation for a fresh finish.

And Full coverage Cream Foundation for a matte finish.

The range sources its Community Fair Trade Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Italy and Namibia and will be available to purchase from 28th August.
