Flawless You Forever - ♥ Love ♥ of the Week

Loving this week!

Air Base Foundation by Flawless You Forever (FYF).

"FYF Air Base is a lightweight, oil-free liquid foundation that is good for all types of skin. It is gentle for sensitive skins and looks like natural skin. Our foundation is created using an advanced gentle formula that provides flawless coverage. It is long wearing, conceals imperfections, minimises pores and evens out skin tones. It creates an invisible barrier for your skin"

The dinky square-ish bottle reminds me of the infamous Nars Sheer Glow to an extent.

I have the one in Cashmere and it is the perfect shade for my NC30 skin colour. It has the right amount of yellow in it and blends so well that I hardly need to apply any to the neck area, which is very rare for Asian skin tones as its hard to find a perfect match.

The bottle came full with product till the very top which is very unusual with foundations, some of which start half way. So yaay for that!

Why I love it?

- It is oil free and fragrance free
- It did not break me out
- Suitable for Sensitive-Combination skin types
- Does not feel heavy on application
- Creates an airbrush like finish
- Easily Blendable

One thing that I admire about this foundation is that the consistency is very buildable allowing me to vary the coverage according to how I want it to be. I like to build it up to almost two layers after which it is full coverage.

The finish is slightly dewy, satin-like hence makes me reminiscent of the Nars Sheer Glow quite a few times. It lasts me an entire day at university through lectures, discussions, presentations... yada yada yada.

(It is exactly my shade. The different coloured neck is due to flash...arghh!)

I think I will be getting a back up in case I run out. I always get compliments on my complexion when I wear this foundation, so this is no other foundation, it must be different from the others for them to be able to distinguish.

Plus for $20 (£11) this is a bargain compared to Nars Sheer Glow. So if you like that cult-favourite, you will most probably love this too!

Antibacterial Make-up Brushes

Did you know something like antibacterial brushes actually existed?

Well a company named Bdellium makes such professional brushes.

"What is anti-bacterial technology?
Cutting edge anti-bacterial technology guards against harmful bacteria, fungus and mold which will bring you the utmost hygiene and assist in creating germ-free environment. All of the materials used in the anti-bacterial process are non-toxic and safe to the environment.

How do I know that anti-bacterial makeup brushes work?
All of our bristles are pre-tested and certified from the dedicated laboratory before the actual production. We guarantee our anti-bacterial property and stand behind our product."

I have tried out their complete eye kit that comes with a collection of 12 brushes in total. These are in my opinion the best you can get for the price. Literally all you will need as a make up artist or a consumer. Plus they are quite efficient quality wise and serve their purpose well.

I don't know about you but I adore yellow as a colour hence I am loving the yellow handles too. The colour goes well with their 'antibacterial' image and appears fresh for a change compared to the usual blacks.

I got it along with a brush belt which is of a pretty good quality too. Unfortunately it is not one I can tie up along my waist. It is simply a roll up case used for travelling and storing brushes.

The two eye liner brushes you get in the kit are awesome and very fine.I haven't quite seen anything like the one on the left below. It is quite flexible so allows you to draw a fine line at your own pace.

These two brushes below are the ones I like for using on the brows and for the lower lash line. They are pretty stiff and that is exactly what you should look for in such brushes. The brush on the right below is very similar to a brush that Illamasqua do for a much higher price, so definitely a bargain!

I can never get enough of tapered blending brushes as they can be so multifunctional. I love to use these for shadows, contouring, shading, highlighting, blending and concealing.

Very good quality, do not shed and give MAC a run for their money. My favourite from the lot and the only two eye brushes I can survive on!

One key thing I noticed about about these brushes were that although most of them were standard ones like the blender brush and the tapered eyeshadow brush, there were quite a few unique ones in the lot and by that I mean genuinely unique in shape!

An example would be of the two eyeshadow applicator brushes below. These are something MAC and Sigma both don't do, shocker I know! It's a tiny stiff applicator precise enough to get into the corners of the eyes and a flat shader brush that is denser in the middle and a perfect square in shape.

Both are fabulous for precise application and packing on colour.

The angled brushes I have previously tried I have simply not liked as they are too flimsy, however this baby is quite stiff and actually of some use on the eyes. I like it to contour the eyes and highlight the brow bone.

These brushes are not the softest I have tried till date however they are not bad quality either that they would feel scratchy. They are just the right texture if you know what I mean. Stiff enough to enable an effective application.

They don't shed at all and are likely to last ages if taken care of properly.

Value for money and a must have in my opinion for around £25 ($45) for the eyes brush set along with a roll up pouch.

Laboratoire Remede UV Coat - The best SPF I've tried till date!

I know its winter and you guys would be like who talks about SPF now? But did you know that you need SPF all through out the year, not only when you are able to see sun light visibly.

Your skin could be affected by sun damage during daylight too, so make sure you skin is always protected by applying a layer of SPF over your moisturiser.

Otherwise sun spots, hyper pigmentation and wrinkly skin is sure to follow you in the later years!

My favourite one to use at the moment is the Laboratoire Remede UV Coat.

Why?

- It has an SPF of 30
- It is Oil Free
- It is moisturizing
- The consistency is runny like water hence a dream to apply/spread unlike other SPF's!

What is even amazing is that it comes in a tinted version with 3 shades to choose from. So you can have your tinted moisturiser and SPF both in one = God sent for us lazy lot eh?

It also gives me an instant brightening effect as it has tiny light reflecting particles that provide a nice glow.

To me this has all the key elements of making it the best SPF I have tried till date.

Overnight Face Lift

You may have read quite a few reviews on the Glamtox Night by Rodial by now. Well I haven't read any, so I may sound different to the rest but that's what blog's are for right?

I was sent this product to try out and I thought of mentioning this because it is an expensive product in the first place. £88 for a night cream makes a huge hole in the wallet for sure. I would myself do quite a bit of research before investing my money on it.

"glamtox night contains a gentle retinol which works to re-surface, thicken and plump the skin whilst reducing pore size. The skin will gain an energized and radiant glow come morning. glamtox night also works to strip away hyperpigmentation creating a light and bright skin tone.
glamtox night is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of crows feet and deep set wrinkles, whilst nourishing the surface of the skin. glamtox night is your 'must have' night treatment!"

In short, its a anti-ageing cream especially formulated to deal with signs of premature ageing whilst you have your precious beauty sleep. That way the cream remains undisturbed and is able to work effectively for hours.

Texture and consistency

First of all, the cream is of a lovely yellowy colour with a herbal smell to it which is pleasant. When I apply it, it spreads very easily and you only need a little blob, which works for the entire face without dragging on the skin. It makes a silicon type ultra smooth layer on the skin making it velvety and matte in appearance. Absorbs in quite quickly and leaves no residue as such.

This is very important for me as the texture of the cream is how I decide I will continue using it or not. The texture should be such IMO that you feel like coming back to it again. This fulfils that criteria for me.

Effectiveness

The results were not drastic on my early twenty's skin but I would say I enjoyed using it. It feels really hydrating and my face feels more tighter, my skin is more plump and the fine lines under my eyes look plumper. It also prevents the swollen face I usually wake up with in the morning.

I had a better participant who could justify the use of the cream more effectively. Steps in the 40 something mum. She has been using the cream for the past few weeks and it has improved her skin texture, helped with sagging and has given her face a slightly more contoured look.

She felt every morning her skin looked plump after the night treatment and the skin under her eyes appeared firmer. Overall she was pleased with the result.

It did not help much in fading her hyper pigmentation and I thought It would not as otherwise the laser treatments would go bust. She has tried quite a few chemical peels in the past but they haven't got rid of the pigmentation completely, so I would not expect a cream to achieve that.

I know she secretly wants a back-up of this so it goes on her Christmas wish list for now.

Get it if your skin is mature, dehydrated and if you suffer from wrinkles or fine lines.
