This look is inspired from Lady Gaga and Beyonce's Telephone music video. Have you guys seen it? Isn't it insanely bizarre! I mean using cans as rollers is just so creative.

Also the makeup looks done in the video are spectacular in my opinion. They may be bizarre and absolutely impractical for everyday but are surely inspirational.

Here I have attempted to do something like Beyonce's yellow-eyed look. Its just so bright and colorful and suits her skintone perfectly! I acquired the inspirational picture from Jens blog who has also done an amazing look based on Beyonce's makeup.

Not much blending goes into this look and its fairly easy to achieve besides the liner part. I know I went slightly overboard with the liner but its not my fault, the look was inspired from gaga's video hence going overboard is legally allowed ;)

I did not blend the crease color much and did not let the crease and the lid color meet as thats how the look was meant to be if you see the original picture.

I only used the Sleek Bohemian Palette for this look. I got this palette as I love Sleek's matte colors and am not a fan of their shimmery colors unlike others. I have to say I love their matte colors much more and hope sleek comes up with a whole matte neutral palette someday :)

Products Used:

- Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base for the eyeshadow
- Use any reddish brown matte color in the crease. I used a mix of MAC's Sketch and the reddish brown color in Sleeks Palette. Dont blend the colors upwards, keep them in the crease.
- Use a bright matte yellow color on the lids. I used the yellow color in this palette.
- Use a nude matte highlight. I used Nyx's Nude Eyeshadow.
- Fill in the brows with a natural brown color. I used Kryolans Eye Pencil in Dark brown.
- I used Mac's Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack to create the thick black liner. Try and wing it upwards untill there is half an inch space between your brows the the liner.
- I finished off with Maybelline's Pulse Perfection Mascara on the lashes.

Overall, I love the look of this Sleek Palette. The white background gives me an artistic feel and the bright colors make it look like a color palette. The bright colors are what I wanted hence I got this, otherwise its not a must have.

p.s. Lady Gaga telephone video look coming soon ;)

40 Beauty Questions

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice.

What skin type do you have?
I just found out that I have combination-sensitive skin. Which means easily irritated skin that is oily in some areas and dry in some.

What is your current facial wash?
I am LOVING Elizabeths Daugher's Facial Gel Cleanser and Liz Earls Cleanse & Polish.

Do you exfoliate?
Almost every other day. Careful though, excessive exfoliation can lead to thinning of the skin.

What brand do you use?
I exfoliate using Liz Earl's Exfoliator or Purity Deep pore cleanser.

What moisturizer do you use?
Loreal's Age Perfect day cream. It's a lovely whipped buttery consistency and you only need a tiny bit. Leaves skin hydrated and not oily!

Do you have freckles?
I have hardly seen Indians with freckles?! :p

Do you use eye cream?
Nivea Anti Shadow eye cream. Immediately absorbs into skin.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I would not call it acne but I have skin prone to spots/blemishes. Not so lucky eh.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
I have no idea what the hype is all about!

What foundation do you use?
Currently I am obsessed about Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Foundation. Flattering shades for all skintones and photographs great, what more can you ask for :)

How about concealer?
Its a mix between Bobbi Browns Corrector in Peach and Barbara Daly(Tesco) concealer in warm.

Do you know your undertone color?
I am an NC for Mac and a Neutral Beige in other brands.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I am terrible at applying them at present, need more practice and Duo adhesive.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes but I use my common sense and change it whenever clumpy.

What brand of mascara do you use?

Maybelline and Rimmel are usually amazing with Mascaras.

Sephora or MAC?
We don't have a Sephora in the UK so Mac.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Not yet but would love to possess one in the future.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Brushes and fingers all the way.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
There is no point applying eye shadows without these so yes! I have always used UDPP but may deviate to Too faced eyeshadow insurance.

For the face?
Moisturizers are great face primers in my opinion.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I dote on Mac's Texture eyeshadow - its my all time favorite!

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I in fact adore gel liners as they are great to control. I prefer brown liner pencils for a subtle everyday look.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Hehe, never actually.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

They look pretty but are a mess to apply. I would rather use them pressed.

It has to be Mac Jubilee any day. You have to try it out guys!

Only Ebay! I am an ebay addict and happy about that :)

Do you like drugstore makeup?
I am not fond of drugstore eye shadows(Sleek is an exception!) or blushes as I feel they lack a flattering range of colors. But I am a fan of drugstore foundations for sure.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

I only know of one in Bicester which I am planning to raid it in the summer sale to come.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

I learn from You Tube for free so how is that any different? But I would love to in the future if time permits.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I take my time and always start beforehand.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?

I cant stand people wearing 'fairer' looking foundations. I never understood the concept of 'fairer is better'. In fact you can get away with wearing darker foundations but never a shade fairer.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

I love a fusion of neutral and bright colors. Try and blend a brighter eyeshadow with a neutral one or add a pop of any bright eyeshadow on your lower lashline. A mix of colors from these families will look modern.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
Kim Kardashian's makeup is anyone's dream! I love Jennifer Lopez's makeup at times. As for Bollywood, I absolutely adore Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu for their makeup sense.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

A foundation would be my must have. You can also double it as a concealer. Don't we all just love multitasking products?

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

I usually am bare faced when am at home and whilst traveling.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I look pretty much the same I guess. Besides the fact that I look jaundiced lol. Makeup adds color to my face.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

Different brands have their own strengths. I would choose Bobbi Brown for Foundations, Mac for Eye shadows and Nars for Blushes.

What do you think of Makeup?
As my tag line goes, Make-up should be used to enhance your beautiful self :) If you are beautiful from the inside it will evidently be seen on the outside, without a doubt.

I would love to see this tag by Cynthia, Divija, Sonali, Mevish, Zara, Innerbelle, Leanne (Do Not Refreeze), Jo (Beautilicious Love), LipstickRules, Makeup Before Coffee, Vex in the City, The Gloss Goss, I Heart Cosmetics, Tastes Like Glitter, Oxford Jasmine and all of you guys who would want to do it.

p.s. forgive me if you already have been tagged and I re-tagged you :S I have read so many of these and have a bad memory!

I ignored my skin for quite a while (make it a good few years) and like most us only adhered to to Moisturizing on a daily basis. Basically I only followed what was essential to prevent dry skin and hence used a body lotion to moisturize my face (gross I know!).

However I always noticed my skin lacked luster, had those occasional blemishes and spots as well as some dry skin patches. I do not have acne prone skin or oily skin overall but still there was never a week when my skin was absolutely flawless!

This led me to take my skincare seriously. I watched quite a few skincare videos on Youtube and the ones I found the most helpful were from Bubzbeauty and GossMakeupArtist. The information they provide is simply invaluable.

I discovered that what everyone was raving about is something that has been established since ages - Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize, short for CTM. We all know about it but we do not feel the need to make an effort to actually imply the regime. This is because most of us either,

- Don't have the time and/or
- Feel that not-so-good skin can easily be camouflaged cosmetically

I don't know about the rest but that was my thinking for sure. Fortunately I was proved wrong and I noticed that my make-up just does not suit my unhealthy skin anymore. We all need a healthy canvas to start with, only then will cosmetics help in enhancing our features and concealing our flaws.

Besides that, I did not want to be covered with makeup all the time and wanted my skin to breath. For that to happen one needs healthy looking skin to flaunt, right?

Hence started my search on skincare products when I stumbled across these gems. As I have mentioned before, I do not like trying out products that are already hyped but rather discover new products and see if they work for me.

The first in line had to be cleansers. Let me tell you ladies, if you thought your makeup removal wipes remove all of your makeup, you are wrong! It just removes the top layer and does not clean your skin of impurities. You need to cleanse your skin properly every day.

Cleansers come in various forms, below I will talk about a Cleansing lotion, Cleansing cream and Cleansing gel.

Elizabeth's Daughter Facial Gel Cleanser - Now this one is supposed to work as a Cleansing face wash and is a high end product in my opinion. Once you have removed the top layer of your makeup with wipes, you then proceed to use this cleanser to remove any remaining traces of makeup. It contains Aloe Vera Juice, Fresh Kiwi Cells as well as Vitamins C & E.

This leaves me with clear skin and it does brighten it immediately to quite an extent. I have a tendancy to have dry-tight skin after using facial washes and surprisingly it does not happen with this. It leaves my face moisturized rather and this could be due to the moisturizing properties of Aloe Vera and Vitamin E.

This is pretty mild, just a gel like consistency and I love using it daily in the morning and sometimes in the evening too when I do not want to use face scrubs. It comes with a pump dispenser and is aimed for the younger age group to preserve youthful skin, hence the name. I am really fond of this product as it works well and there are not many products aimed at preserving young skin.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - You may have heard a zillion reviews about this and here's my 2 cents on this. This baby is my current love ♥ I use it on dry skin, massage it and then wipe away the makeup with cotton wool and it removes every bit of makeup from your face. I even use this under my eyes and on my eyelids and it does not irritate it even one bit!

It has a lovely Eucalyptus Oil smell and feels like aromatherapy. You can even use this product with a hot muslin cloth as provided and you can also this as a face wash to remove all your makeup or after removing your makeup, as a cleansing face wash. It has innumerable uses to be precise! I use this every alternate day in my skincare routine.

Liz's products are stunning as they are immensely moisturizing, even this cleanser. It is so creamy in consistency and works like a dream. Some of the amazing ingredients include Bees wax, Cocoa Butter, Rosemary Oil and Chamomile Oil. Again due to the natural ingredients, it leaves me with moisturized skin after use. This is her best selling product and is reasonably priced. I am a convert already!

Purity Conditioning Cleansing Lotion - This is a lotion consistency and you can use this over you makeup, massage it for a while and then remove it with a cotton pad and voila - it dissolves makeup like a dream and you have surprisingly clear skin in minutes :) I love these easy to use, effortless products. They are such good value for money.

This is the reason I like such brands compared to the ones sold in drugstores, they actually make good products without spending a tonne on publicity. Although let me remind you guys, the Purity range will be available in Superdrug.

As for ingredients, it has Aloe Vera Powder, Oat Flour, Sweet Almond Oil and Avocado Oil to name a few. This is suitable for sensitive skin and is as natural as products can get. I love to use this as my on-the-go quick makeup remover. If you are looking for a reasonably priced yet effective makeup remover, this is what you should go for as its cheaper than most drugstore brands.

So that was my take on the current cleansers I dote on. I have Combination-Sensitive skin and none of these products have irritated my skin. Cleansers come first in the CTM regime and hence I did this post first. I will be doing separate posts on Toners, Exfoliators and Moisturizers so stay tuned. Remember if your skin is not clean it will most probably lead to breakouts. Your skin will only look like the effort you've put in :)
