Dior Show Mascara - Worth the hype?

I usually don't get sucked up into luxury brands, but this was something that came along a Dior palette I got a while back.

I had heard quite a bit about this mascara before and was pretty excited to test it out!

I have to say the packaging is pretty meh. I mean for the hefty price you pay for this, you would expect something very 'Chanelisque'. It's in fact a very light weight convenient packaging.

The brush that comes out from this tiny container is gigantic. It's pretty fat and you have to get used to handling this beneath your eyelashes. I like my precise wands, where I know exactly which lash I am coating, so it took me a while to get used to it.

You know how some mascara's are simply 'Woah!' on first application and some you have to really work with to get those results, well this is simply Woah!

It transformed my not so visible lashes..

to baam! in seconds..

I really like the result you know. It does not clump, elongates and separates quite well too. What I adore about this is its ability to add volume to the lashes which I struggle to find with mascaras.

The formula of this mascara is very waxy and thick, so less chances of making a mess with it. I have the shade Noir Black, which looks grey in the tube but applies an intense black and stays on the entire day without budging on me! The black could have been more intense though.

A full sized version would cost you around £20 I believe. I like my mascara's and if they are flat or don't give me dramatic results in seconds, they end up unused.

So I would definitely pay £20 for a mascara which actually delivers results than stacking a tonne of cheapy ones, that end up at the bottom of my train case.

Totally worth the hype I would say.

Oh wow, your lashes look amazing! It's just a case of what works for someone else will not work for you I guess, I also have this, but it does NOTHING for my eyelashes, just a quick wash of colour plus I hate the rose scent! I'm glad it works for you so well though :) xx

This is my everyday mascara. Team it with lancome clis primer and it makes the effect even better.

That looks amazing! I had heard that this was overhyped, but now I want to test it out at Sephora the next time I go.

had that before. too messy to remove. didnt like it at all.

I've heard how good this is but always resisted buying it because i've heard nothing about it's consistency. I only used waterproof mascaras because they hold my curl better. I am asian and have straight lashes therefore I need a mascara that is fairly dry to hold me curl and not weight it down. Would you say this was really wet?

@maki - aww! thats a shame it didn't work for you. I like to remove it with my Clarins cleanser and it works just fine.

@Meowcake - I did not find this wet at all girl. It was waxy, pretty much like those volumising mascaras like Loreal Voluminous. It did hold my curl pretty well and the thick brush helps in lifting the lashes too :)

Wow, it looks FAB! I have a small version of Diorshow Blackout but it's a little clumpy, this looks much better. Loving the new layout by the way! xo

I also had the sample size of this mascara and absolutely loved it!! It actually looks like you're wearing falsies after you've applied it, shame about the price tag though :(

I love this mascara too. Apart from the price, it's really one of the best mascaras out there.

I like the diorshow iconic better than this one, it has a "curling" brush and I've never had so many compliments on my mascara

Oh wow- I love the results!
I'll have to look into getting this :)

Wow! The results really speak for themselves here. The brush looks massive though, I'm a complete klutz with mascara so I'd end up with this all over my lid. Looks amazing on your lashes though. x

I hate spending a lot on mascara, but WOW. Your lashes look darn near fake! That's awesome!

Wow !
i like how its separate the eyelashes ,and not giving a heavy look with Eyelashes stuck together

Love it

I agree. Diorshow is the only mascara that can elongate and add volume to lashes.
