Quick Tip for Concealers!

I always had a problem of creasing with my concealer. It gives an amazing coverage but due to the amount I used, it always got into the fine lines and wrinkles and thus creased! But I still continued with it as I could find no better concealer that what I have.

When I recently went to the MAC counter looking for a concealer for my aunt, the MA first put a layer of the studio fix concealer with the MAC 217 brush and blended it and then what caught my eye was that she got an eye cream, put some on her brush, dipped that into the concealer and then applied it over that first layer.

This literally changed it into a liquid concealer but offering the same coverage as before (dare I say even more!) The result was total coverage :D

Also using the 217 for a concealer is a fab idea indeed as it provides the lightest coverage with heavy duty cream concealers and prevents the concealer from filling in the fine lines and wrinkles.

Also dipping the brush in the cream prevents the concealer from appearing cakey or dry. It infact leaves a luminous, reflective result which will minimise the appearance of fine lines or any darkness.

To try this out, what you will need is

- a MAC 217 brush (this is indeed the best for concealer, applying/blending e/s and £12 is dirt cheap if it will last you a life time!!! go get one!!)

- a full coverage cream/stick concealer (any decent one will do as long as it provides the right coverage for you. I would suggest investing in a MAC studio fix (£11 approx) or a Derma color concealer (£18 approx) )

- an eye cream (any will do really!)

FAB UNDER £5 BUYS! Sleek I Divine Eyeshadow Palette

For those of you who dont know, Sleek is a newly emerged drugstore brand in the U.K. Most of it items are pretty reasonably priced and under a tenner. It has a pretty impressive range but this palette is definately a cult favourite!

It is available for approximately £4.49 at superdrug, ebay and some afro hair and makeup stores. It is available in 3 different color schemes, i.e. storm, original and chaos. The above shown is Storm and its mainly a neutral palette. It comes with 12 brilliant shades out of which three (black, coffee and beige) are matte whilst the others are metallic and have an amazing sheen to them.

They are not chunky or glittery and are extremely creamy in texture, thus easy to blend and work with. As for pigmentation goes, they are highly similar to MAC shadows. They stay put for the whole day too, but make sure to wear a eyeshadow base before applying these as they tend to stain.

The wide array of colors makes it easy to create a subtle day time look or a glam night-out look. Its perfect to create a smokey eye too! It has 3 highlight colors in metallic gold, silver and beige; three matte crease colors in beige, black and coffee brown; three smokey eye shades of blue, green and grey and three day time colors in light pink, plumy pink and bronze.

I found some colors can act as MAC dupes too,

matte black (first on bottom right) - MAC e/s carbon
coffee brown (right next to the black) - MAC e/s wedge/expresso
beige/gold (third from top right) - MAC e/s shroom
muted beige (third from top left) - MAC e/s brule
plumy pink (first on top right) - MAC e/s twinks/folie

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer

There are hardly any products (besides my daily foundation) that i would really really want to buy again, and this is one of the few that i definately repurchase!! I just hit pan on this so very often :S

I bought this in a gwp size from ebay whilst on a hunt for bronzers just to give it a try. its an amazingly perfect color for asian skintones, ranging from nc30 to nc40. It wouldnt show up on very dark skin tones I suppose. it works as a contour for nose and cheeks coz thats what i use it mainly for.

However recently I have been using it as a blusher and it is not dark at all and makes an elegant blush too. its a really flattering soft matte brown and not orangey at all! very smooth in texture and has good staying power. well thats what you would expect when you purchase an estee lauder ;) you can grab this in a gwp size at ebay from under a fiver! (the one shown in the picture is a full sized item)

NARS Blush Oasis

soo this is my first NARS blush! after all the raving about its blushes on youtube, I finally decided to get one for myself and was pleasantly surprised :)

So i went to the counter to actually pick up a peachy blush as i was sick of pink blushes. i had heard a lot of things about torrid being awesome, and was going to get that. however when i swatched torrid on my hand, it came out to be a very heavy peachy pink color which actually made me look sick :S no matter how lightly i tried it, it just wasnt the peach i was looking for :( but i didnt wana go away disappointed so i thought of looking for another blush wen dis baby caught my eye! all the other blushers looked very bright for my liking and orgasm was plain golden glitter!! It did not even show up on me :(

This has the most unique color ever and contained a tonne of glitter but i still got it coz it looked uber gorgeous in the pan. the MA on the counter was useless but wen i applied it lightly this was stunning :D I am a NC30 and this came out as a bricky reddish brown color with deep peach undertones on me and a whole lot of finely milled gold glitter. but the best thing about this it that if applied with the 187 or 116 it comes out very sheer. also, if u despise glitter, juz flick the brush once before applying it. the glitter just melted in my skin leaving a luminous glow, so it didnt really bother me!

it is very fine glitter, not chunks so its workable i guess. it is kinda pricey for £18.50 but totally worth it as will last aaages! also it stays put the whole day. so overall i wud give this a 5 on 5!
